No matter what your age, the essence of who you are has been covered up over the years by layers of beliefs and assumptions about yourself and others. These began accumulating from the time you were born and resulted from the interactions with people and tasks in your life. From what transpired in these interactions, you came to conclusions about yourself and your place in the world. Many of these conclusions were incorrect because they were based on erroneous information. They are true for you because you believe them so. Full forgiveness requires both a willingness to enter a mental dry dock and a commitment to remove the debris that has accumulated on the hull of your life. This debris is primarily the false beliefs and assumptions about yourself resulting from the past mistakes and failures. They are now a handicap your every move. Until this repair and cleaning work is undertaken, unnecessary resistance will hold you back from using your full potential.
Moon: Best if performed under a waxing moon (7 - 10 days after the full moon). At this phase of the moon, it is a time of losing, for banishing, for forgiveness. As the moon steadily looses light as it changes from full to new moon, so can you banish some negative issues and continue on in a new phase of life.
Light a colored candle corresponding to one of the following:
Burn appropriate incense.
Face North (earth, feminine) and address the watchtower of the North for its wisdom of family, homestead and stability. or Face East (air, masculine) and address the watchtower of the East to open communications and for its wisdom of intellect. East (air) is associated with "the winds of change"
Sit before the alter and write on a piece of paper: I forgive myself for: I forgive others for: Spill your hearts desire; pour all in all the emotion and energy into the paper. When finished, read it over to permanently rid yourself from these plaguing issues.
In your minds eye, ball these emotions up into a tight wad and crumble the paper with will and intent. Throw the wad into your caldron and ignite the paper. As the flames dance and the smoke ascends, visualize all your hostile and feelings of regret and grudgery exit you - being released and dissolved into the universe. As you watch the smoke, say: "I forgive and let go of all the errors, mistakes, and failures of my life. The lessons have been well learned. I totally and unconditionally forgive myself and others for the errors, mistakes, and failures of the past. I am a wiser, more understanding person". Whatever words you choose, repeat them over and over again until they ring with truth. Realize there is so much for you to contribute and accomplish in the future that it serves no one for you to hold back and not bring to the world all that you have to offer.
As it harms none, so mote it be.
